Hrithik Roshan launches 'hrx' casual wear trend?

We hear that Hrithik Roshan launched his own clothing line of active lifestyle apparel and casual wear called 'HRX' at the Myntra Fashion weekend held at Palladium Hotel in Mumbai. The Deccan Chronicle reports that the  brand is a mix of Hrithik's casual and sexy style and is manufactured and retailed exclusively by the online store. It further stated that although his clothes were simple casuals, they all had an element fun and quirkiness that not only kept up with the latest fashion trends, but also made a few fashion statements of their own. It also said that Hrithik put some of the most vibrant, fun and exciting collection we have seen so far at the fashion week.

Describing the finale of the first Myntra Fashion Weekend when Hrithik launched his line, India Today reported that- "Targeting fitness and lifestyle clothing primarily for men, the collection was a pleasant surprise with basic yet smart designs, especially for gym buffs. Charcoal tones, black and grey toned hooded jackets, track pants, sweatshirts and sneakers made up the first half of the show. The remaining looks included casual T shirts, check shirts, chinos and fedora hats. The show was high on energy as models not only strutted down the ramp, but also whizzed down on roller blades or cycles and performed some hip hop-style dance steps. For women, distressed jeans, tiny shorts over loose tops, denim skirts, dungaree shorts, track pants and racer back tops were the key looks." The daily also quoted the  actor-turned-designer as saying, "I've always wanted to give so much to the world, and this is my biggest contribution."

The actor, whose 'Bang Bang' crossed the 200 crore mark worldwide in five days, took to social media where he posted, ""True power and true happiness are when you use your success to make others around you feel even more significant." Apparently he was referring to his new 'feel good' collection following on the heels of the 200 crore collections.

We did check out the 'HRX' at the myntra site and didn't think it was bad at all. Shoes, pants, t-shirts, ranging from Rs. 700 to Rs. 1500 (about $ 11 to 25) seem like 'Target' ( a US Departmental store) kind of trendy and affordable. Now we know film stars walking the ramp is a natural progression, what with famous designers dressing up their favorite patrons on and off screen. Models turned actors was something that has been common also. But we can't help wondering about this new trend where film stars are turning into designers. First it was Salman Khan coming out with Being Human clothing along with a store too, even expanding all over Europe. Then Alia Bhat making news about her cool casual collection with Jabong, a shopping portal, for a line titled 'Alia' (picture below). Then it is model and actress, Lisa Haydon and Hrithik at the Myntra. Got to say, we're truly amazed at the enthusiasm and the motivation of the rich and the famous to get richer and even more of a household name! Well, if God so desires them success, we mortals can merely wish them well! Here is to the Midases of the world, to whatever they touch turning to gold!
