desideewar Mumbai Airport Se.... with Anjali Arora

Anjali Arora, Vice President at Allscripts, was recently in India for a short business trip. Upon landing at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at Mumbai, she was impressed by the beauty of the gorgeous airport with it's newly rebuilt terminal T2 that was inaugurated in early 2014. Here are a few pictures she was happy to share with us.

Some interesting information on Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA)-
  • With a passenger traffic of over 32.2 million in 2013-14, CSIA Mumbai is the second busiest airports in India and 48th busiest in the world and in 2011, the airport was ranked the third-best in the world in the 25–40 million passengers category , as per the Airports Council International.
  • CSIA's two Domestic Terminals (T1A & T1B) are located at Santacruz (E), Mumbai and its International Terminal (T2) is located at Sahar, Andheri (E), Mumbai
  •  As of March 2014, over 40 different passenger airlines and 15 different freight airlines operate to 44 international destinations in total. On the domestic front, 5 different passenger airlines and 1 freight airline operate to 47 domestic destinations as a whole. 
  • It is named after the 17th-century Maratha ruler, Chhatrapati Shivaji.
  • Terminal 2 hosts the world's largest public art programme to be located in an airport with 6,000 pieces of Indian art from all over India, causing BBC to refer to it as "India's largest museum".
  • The new Terminal 2, was constructed by Larsen and Toubro (L & T) and Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM) is the architectural designer of the project. It's construction is scheduled to complete in 2015.
